Well working round the issue turned out to be quite painless really. To use the latest release:
*wget http://apt.puppetlabs.com/puppetlabs-release-precise.deb sudo dpkg -i puppetlabs-release-precise.deb sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install puppet* With similar for the puppet master node too. *wget http://apt.puppetlabs.com/puppetlabs-release-precise.deb sudo dpkg -i puppetlabs-release-precise.deb sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install puppetmaster* David.
