Since we've had a few threads about packages lately, I thought I would
share where our Open Sources packages are available from. These areas
are kept updated with the latest versions from Puppet Labs. This is in
contrast with many distro policies (e.g. Squeeze at 2.6.2, EPEL at
2.6.14, etc).

RPM/Yum
  * http://yum.puppetlabs.com -- currently supporting el5,6 fedora
15/16. Fedora 17 soon. To get started, the easiest thing to do is to
navigate to your distribution /products and install
puppetlabs-release. This configures the yum repo and imports the GPG
key.

Deb/Apt
  * http://apt.puppetlabs.com -- currently supporting  (hardy jaunty
karmic lucid maverick natty oneiric unstable lenny sid squeeze wheezy
precise). The easiest way to get started is to install
puppetlabs-release found at the top level of apt.puppetlabs.com.

Mac
  * http://downloads.puppetlabs.com/mac -- currently supporting native
Mac packages for facter and puppet.

Windows
  * http://downloads.puppetlabs.com/windows -- currently supporting
native Windows MSI that includes facter with puppet. (This is new this
month)

Rubygems
  * http://rubygems.org/gems/puppet  -- Gems available for all
platforms. Gems also provides the least-good experience, IMHO, due to
the user creation, lack of init script installation, etc.

If you have questions, or have issues, either let me know, or file an
issue under community package repository.
