If you want to start over, these should give you a good start at finding and 
removing the pieces. By design these will remove your puppet configuration.

rm -Rf /etc/puppet
rm -Rf /var/lib/puppet

rm -Rf /usr/share/puppet

This should be a good start at removing the config.
