Hello.

I'm considering running puppet manually on a few or all of you production
servers, instead of automatically via cron or puppetd.

I found a presentation from NYSE Euronext and Puppet Labs from this year's
Red Hat Summit describing a setup in which one runs puppet daily in report
mode to detect discrepancies between the reality and the puppet manifest.
This kind of setup sound really neat, and I were wondering if others have
done the same, and if so _how_ you have set up notification of discrepancies
- do your puppet servers email you directly, do you trigger on syslog
messages having "puppet" and "noop" in them, or some thing else?
