And it's not just my badly written script either.

Here's what I get with an unmodified httpd startup script...

gumby /etc/rc.d:# chkconfig --del httpd

gumby /etc/rc.d:# chkconfig httpd on

gumby /etc/rc.d:# find . -name *httpd*
./rc3.d/S85httpd
./rc4.d/S85httpd
./init.d/httpd
./rc5.d/S85httpd
./rc2.d/S85httpd

Same result. No kill links.
