If you never use Puppet with Mac clients, you can stop reading now.

Looking for comment on the above bug.  Currently the default provider
for OS X packages is "apple" which takes a local filesystem path for
the package.

I believe the default should be the pkgdmg provider, which takes a
http:// url for a pkg inside a dmg.
