Hi Len, Let me take a shot at this. I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong.
It roughly works like this: 1) Client connects to server and asks "what should my configuration be?" 2) Server responds with the desired configuration 3) Client then checks that configuration against what exists 4) Client fixes anything that doesn't match what the server gave it tl;dr: If only the hash value changes, will puppet apply that change?
