Hi I am running Debian 4.0. I have updated my system from v 0.20. Updated Ruby then checked libraries openssl, xmlrpc -all OK but ruby --vesion gives 1.8.5 not 1.8.7 which I was expecting!
Did the LDAP validation as per the wiki -all OK Installed puppet v 0.27.7 Puppermaster wouldn't start. Checked package manager aptitude and it said libshadow-ruby1.8 was required. I installed this. It will be 1.4.1-7 as it was for etch. This came up with some warnings abourt overwriting config files. Puuppetmaster still doesn't start error is: /usr/sbin/puppetmasterd:83: in 'require' :no such file to load -- puppet (LoadError) I know I need to use the --genconfig option but I haven't got that far.
