One possible route: install Reader by hand somewhere. Make your own Solaris package out of what it installs [1] (I've documented how to do it Blastwave-style, but the package creation process should be identical). Put your new Reader package in a location accessible by either NFS (or http, for newer Solaris versions). Install it with Puppet's native package type [2].
