Great news: On Tuesday the HL7 ITS work group slightly tweaked and then unanimously approved the charter for a subgroup on "RDF for Semantic Interoperability":

The tweaks made to the previous draft addressed comments from Grahame Grieve (that the draft scope was wider than the ITS scope) and Peter Brooks (that we should also consider alternatives to OWL). Thanks to Grahame and Peter for that input.

The newly formed RDF subgroup will hold a weekly teleconference on Tuesdays at 11am Eastern US timezone, jointly with the W3C HCLS Clinical Observations Interoperability group. (See details in separate upcoming email.)
