Hi Chris. Thanks for explaining how Matt does the ProTools with Speech
tutorials. This sounds great. I know the website has been down for a while, but
where can I purchase the tutorials if I decide I want to get them?

Thanks.

Ricky, I couldn't have said it better! I agree 100 million percent. The
material is a little bit outdated, I'll admit that, but for what you get, it's
absolutely phenomenal! In fact, I even find myself two years out from
purchasing it going back and reviewing things over and over. There are just so
many things Matt covers in this tutorial. Especially in the editing section.
I've gotta say, I would never be where I am today with PT had I not gotten the
PTWS tutorials. Words cannot even express how greatful I am to Matt for putting
them together. It really! truly helped me embrace the DAW at my own pace,
feeling extremely comfortable along the way. And what I love is, he doesn't,
for those who haven't heard it, just lecture you like, to do X, do Y. Once Y's
done, jump on your head, bark like a dog, then oink like a pig. LOL! In all
seriousness though, he actually goes through, does it, and let's you hear, and
shows you.

What I also like is, he not only shows you what to do, but also what not! to
do. There were a few places where he obviously undoes the action, but he
actually very intentionally epically breaks things in his mix a bit, just to
show you why certain things would not be a good idea in certain contexts. This
way, you kind of have that Aa! OK moment.

I absolutely would say he's gained my full trust. If he ever makes an updated
version of these tutorials, even if we don't get them complementary since we
already bought the original, and even if we get no discount for already being a
customer, that's fine. I'd still purchase them in a heartbeat with absolutely
no hesitation.

Chris.

Great job on the album mat. Folks I highly recommend Protools with speech even
though it is a little old this is a great thing. If you have to travel at a
higher pace then pay the cost for a more expensive class it will make you the
boss. But if you are traveling slow like me Protools with speech is the way to
go I would also say the Protools with speech should be a prerequisite. It will
help you to understand what you need to ask Byrin and others. I still refer to
it even today. absolutely.

Matt,

Is your country album released yet which you speak of? I'd absolutely love to
hear it if so. I've got access to Apple Music, or could bill it to my AT&T
wireless account with my Android phone, provided it's on Google Play Music. It
would probably be easiest though for me to stream it with my A.M subscription,
like I have done with your Christian E.P, which BTW, if you guys have not
heard, you're intensely missing out; as it is excellent!

Chris.

Good morning all,

I apologize for the delay but wanted to speak on this briefly.

I’ve been working on releasing my own country album for the past year and a
half and it took up nearly every free moment I had available. Then, when I
started getting some ideas together for PT 12, 2019 was announced, and I
figured we better hold off, so that I didn’t create something only to have it
out of date again.

I have recorded along while making this album, so hope to release some new
tutorials soon. I do hope to update our materials later this year. In the
mean time, if anyone wishes to purchase the PTWS tutorials, feel free to email
me privately, and I can still provide a secure link.

Feel free to email off list if I can answer any questions.

All my best.

I can still voutch for protools with speech. It might be a bit out of date
sure. Matt and Robb did those tutorials on protools 10. There is a lot more
accessibility these days, with the wonderful flo tools and some new features,
But most of the concepts haven’t changed that much. That is how I learned
protools and i’d say if it’s still available it would still be a good way to
learn protools out of the box. and then deal with flotools as you go along. You
might find the odd short cut has changed, but most of it is still relevant. I
don’t know how I would have done it if it had not been for protools with
speech. I still refer back to this tutorial at times

This is true, you did say you would do this.

What is interesting is that the protools with speech web site does not have
anything that is upto date for the newest versions of Protools.

With the courses that are offered on the web site, what in the lines of
voiceover accessibility do they cover? Just wondering.

Hi Richard,

I can personally vouch for the quality of learning from I See Music. It would
be hard to put the training into a prerecorded format, because there are many
different approaches and workflows which benefit the most from live instruction
and discussion. I started the PT course with Jason Dasent having already known
a lot about the topics, and still picked up a lot of workflow enhancements and
different mixing techniques I learned through discussion.

I hope my input has helped explain things.

Best,

Mike
