So... I have a friend who sent me a ProTools session to work on with
them side by side.
The problem is, their hardware is dramaticly different than mine. We're
both using ProTools 2019, but our interfaces are totally different, and
obviously, our studio routing IO paths are completely different.
What I'm finding is happening is, when I bring up the session, and I
look at all the audio tracks within the session, I see on each audio
track that the input and output paths say things like main headphones
1/2 stereo, or main mac mini speakers L mono, etc.
I get that I can go into the IO settings dialog, and delete those path
name assignments, then simply on the input, output, and bus tabs hit the
default button, and set them back to my defaults, but my question is,
when saving a session, is there a way specifically to tell PT not to
save input and output/bus data names? It just makes navigating the
session a bit confusing for me.
I could a sworn I remembered seeing the option somewhere within PT's
preferences, but I just can't for the life of me remember where it's
berried.
Chris.
