Phil replied: I have it here because it ships as part of the Samplitude Pro X2 Suite. You also get a ton of plug-ins with that including the full restoration suite and full version of Vandal. We have been having discussions about making per track spectral editing accessible and it looks doable. Gord wrote: I really want to be able to import some of my own samples though. I think independence will import sound fonts. If you are really starting to get somewhere with samplitude, you might want to think about doing a pod cast when you get a chance. Phil replied: the plan is to do short videos. Gord wrote: I did set custom highlights to determine what was the current track. Are you able to determine if a track is armed or soloed etc.? Phil replied: yes we can do that and a bunch more stuff as we now have a complete scripting solution which will be freely available shortly. It's been developed by Steve Spamer and Tim Burgess. Both of those guys are great scripter's and it's a really robust package. I think Chris Smart is also on here. Chris has been really putting it through it's paces where as I have been doing some of the more developer stuff to make things robust so haven't gotten to play with it as much as I would like. Having said that, I got the scripts on a Thursday. Was so impressed by how accessible it all is and how well it works that I purchased Samplitude Pro X2 Suite on the Monday. Having access to that and other great tools on the Mac like Superior Drummer 2 would be great. Although I also work in Windows And have Independence available to me in Samplitude Pro X2 Suite which is accessible so that could be an option for you. Independence ships with tons of great hi quality samples in all kinds of styles. It's something like 70GB of data so not bothering with it here as don't use samples much in my work flow at the moment. Personally like to have as many tools available to me as possible. Still the great news is that now got Superior Drummer 2 working in Samplitude so it's nice to have another high quality DAW available on the Windows side that is significantly newer and sounds sonically better than Sonar 8.5.3. Talking of which, this will be a free update for any Superior Drummer 2 users who have purchased the HSC sets for use in Sonar who want it. It's also great to be able to edit automation after the fact and apply affects to clips or as they call them in Samplitude, objects all non destructively. Finally, absolutely not knocking editing MIDI in PT however, it's way easier to do in Samplitude. _____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Gordon Kent Sent: 07 May 2016 06:28 To: [email protected] Subject: Is structure free a dead issue? Just wondering; is access to structure free a no go? I know there are presets available for the full version. This is the one major roadblock with pt at least for me, since I do a lot of midi work. Being able to load user samples would really be nice. Gord -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Pro Tools Accessibility" group.
