Hi Brian,

If you import the movie into Pro Tools as a QuickTime file, you can then nudge
the music to fit the movie track, providing it has some audio to which you can
reference. There are a few variables which might make this more or less
challenging but, in theory, it is possible. I've done this when syncing some
audio to a video that was shot at the same time as a session recording. Mind
you, however, if video is going to be projected and it has to be in sync with
the music that is being played from a Pro Tools rig, without an Avid video
system, I'm not sure how you'd get a pure video feed to a projection server.
You might be able to set up something to slave to SMPTE but you're getting into
a whole different area in terms of video projection. If the video doesn't have
to be precisely locked up to the audio playback, you can probably get away with
a few trial and error manual countdowns of playback to be triggered by someone
during the event.
