It depends on what you need. If itīs monitoring the status of your machines 
I recommend www.nagios.org , monitoring dosen't get better than that. Easy 
to integrate with alerts by SMS, email etc. If it's performance you want to 
measure you have many programs to choose from. Redhat comes with sysstat 
for example.
