Hi Matthew,

1) move glibc-2.3.2-4.80.i386.rpm to another folder

2) tested many combination on following packages
glibc-devel-2.3.2-4.80.i386.rpm
glibc-common-2.3.2-4.80.i386.rpm
glibc-2.3.2-48.i386.rpm
glibc-2.3.2-48.i686.rpm
glibc-devel-2.3.2-48.i386.rpm
glibc-common-2.3.2-48.i386.rpm

Only found following combination went through the test installation

glibc-2.3.2-48.i686.rpm
glibc-devel-2.3.2-4.80.i386.rpm
glibc-common-2.3.2-48.i386.rpm

# rpm -Fvh --test glibc*.rpm
Preparing... ###########################################
[100%]

Can "glibc-devel-2.3.2-4.80.i386.rpm" work together with
"glibc-2.3.2-48.i686.rpm". Different version?

B.Regards
Stephen
