John,

I don't have a Linksys KVM, but I had some issues with Red Hat (and
Solaris x86) when using KVM switches (Black Box, Protec and Belkin).

The problem I have experienced with both Gnome and KDE is that I lose
control of the mouse cursor when I go back to Linux (From 2000 or XP).
It is so uncontrollable that usually have to power off the PC. I ended
up placing a logoff icon in the taskbar so that I can get to it via
keyboard navigation to do a clean logoff. It doesn't happen all the
time, but it happens enough to be extremely annoying.

I must say it is better than a dual boot solution though.

Good luck,

Jim

Subject: Linksys KVM switch

I'm considering getting a Linksys ProConnect Integrated KVM 2 Port
switch to
use on my RH 8.0 box and a Win98 box. Has anyone ever used this switch
on a
Linux box? Is there any reason it shouldn't work?

Thanks,

John Guynn
