I'm also running KDE - and my problem is that Packages is NOT in the
menu....  I'll try running from the command line.

I'm gathering that you are looking for the GUI package manager - I think
it used to be known as Gno-RPM

I am using KDE and it's in the menu labelled 'System Settings' -
'Packages (Package Management' but if you are using Gnome, it may be
somewhere else or called something else

you can always run it from a command line...
redhat-config-packages
