Hi Gordon, I'm not sure what terminal it is. How can I query that info. This was a RH8 minimal install with a few custom added and deleted packages.

The problem is that a program can not reliably "detect" what encoding is in use, whether it's a latin, or japanese, or UTF-8 encoding...
