- which daemon do you prefer for monitoring the ups ?

i cannot find powerd from SysVinit
#find / -name powerd
#rpm -q SysVinit
SysVinit-2.84-5

for now i have installed
apcupsd 3.10.3
is this a good choice?



- how can i update the BATTDATE in the eprom?

the origin battery is replaced by a new battery 12/14/02 but:
#apcaccess
BATTDATE 08/22/96

with apcupsd 3.10.3:
the entry in /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf
# Battery date - 8 characters -- used only during -u or --update-battery-date
#BATTDATE mm/dd/yy
BATTDATE 12/14/02

#service apcupsd stop
#apcupsd -u
#apcaccess
BATTDATE 08/22/96

#apcupsd --update-battery-date
#apcaccess
BATTDATE 08/22/96

#service apcupsd status | grep BATTDATE
BATTDATE : 08/22/96

any idea?
