ahh, not a samba server. Now that I actually read your post I see you
said that :) I have no idea what default protocol AppleShare uses. A
samba client _should_ be able to connect though whatever the protocol.
The only other thing I can suggest is 'debug=n' in your smbmount
options. Also try playing around with the netbiosname and workgroup
options.
