Yes, but only the NVIDIA_kernel driver, the NVIDIA_GLX files will work fine. I think the only reason you have recompile the kernel module driver is because Red Hat kernels use module version checking (CONFIG_MODVERSIONS=y), otherwise, you would not have to recompile anything.
