I'm using an optical mouse. Specifically the Microsoft Intellimouse with IntelliEye. I had an older Intellimouse Explorer which was also optical, and that worked just fine with Red Hat.It got the hiccups one day so I replaced it with a small off-white Microsoft with IntelliEye mouse a couple years ago. It works just fine, but it appears to need a kernel module to support it -- one of the nonstandard USB HID mouse modules. And yes, this is on 8.0.
