The hack is totally unacceptable. Isn't there any professional guidance on how to fix this i810_audo and emu10k1 not producing sound at all?
I originally wrote: Have a p4pe Asus mb with i810_audio on board sound. I also have a SBLive card. Both are detected and both do not work. They show up in the applet gnome Sound Detection, there are aliases to both in modules.conf, hwconf has entries for both, but alas nothing in the=20 way of sound. I have enabled sound. I have tried to delete the entries in hwconf and let kudzu detect them. No change. Have tried removing the references in modules.conf. No change. Have place entries for sound-service-0-1 and sound-service-1-0. Nothing Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks frank
