This is my only gripe with Mozilla.  I don't like
Mozilla Mail, but Mozilla does not support third party
email clients for mailto: links.  It's a pretty major
feature that is missing, IMHO.  

(It's also why I think it's a mistake for RH to put
Mozilla and Evolution together as the default choices
in the taskbar.  You can't click on a mailto: link in
Mozilla and have it open Evolution!)

That is why I use Galeon and changed the icon
accordingly.
