DWay would have been better off making it talk ethernet so you can just

FWIW I have been told that inside the Directway box is an ethernet to USB
converter. I have no first hand knowledge of this but the information
came to me from someone who I trust.
I've seen that mentioned before. Same for StarBand boxes.
