What machine is this on?
I started the same thing after I posted on my 800 MHz athlon
and it's still running.
It's an Athlon XP 2000+ with 512Mb RAM (from tomorrow I'll have 1Gb, but
I doubt that will change anything).
I can give you the output of lspci hoping it helps:
Is that 1 or 2 DIMMS now? Have you ran memtest86 on this
system? Ever have any stability problems?
00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8367 [KT266]
00:01.0 PCI bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8367 [KT333 AGP]
What bus speed are you using? If it's 133/266 try dropping it
to 100/200.
What speed is the memory? What is it running at?
Can you try using the "Safe" settings in BIOS for
the memory?
I missed the start of this. Did you modify
/etc/prelink.conf ?
No, not touched that file.
My system it's a straight RH8 installation with a few more packages like
mplayer from freshrpms.net and something else (not much).
I have a heavily customized system. It was basicaly
RHL-7.3, and I upgraded to RHL-8.0. But I have
some nonredhat packages on it, I run sawfish,
and some old redhat packages left over (like ee).
Just about an "everything" install, since I build and
play on the box.
