packages that had to go ;(
The number of users of the i586 smp kernel appeared very small and at
least less than the number of users of the <lot of other packages> that
make up 10Mb.
Does that imply that the DVD version has a 586 SMP kernel binary?
it does not.... for technical reasons
BTW, /usr/src/linux-2.4/configs/kernel-2.4.18-i586-smp.config can be
used to
build an smp kernel for the i586.
Not if the machine won't boot, it can't. :-)
