Try it and see. There is always rescue mode :/ I've done it on earlier versions of RH. I think you'll find it is not so simple. Sort of a reverse dependency hell, and with many, many packages involved. Some obvious, some not. For instance, at one time, xscreensaver had a dependency on GNOME.
