Peter- The libraries that come with Protel are way out of date. It's pretty easy to build new parts. I've built all the parts for my boards, several hundred components, plus add more all the time. You need to get into the library and learn it, but once you do it's fairly straightforward.

Hi, I am trying to create a simple PCB using Protel 99SE, and am nearly there, but cannot seem to find footprints for an LM2940 regulator in a TO-263 package, and a MC7806 regulator in a TO-220 (horizontal) package. Surely these commonly used footprints already exist in the PCB libraries? I'm tearing my hair out (what's left of it!) - & about to redesign the PCB in Eagle!
