Here is an analogy. I have a router and I want it connect Points A B C
and D on a back plane in that order. I can write three lines of code to
connect them, a forth line of code to define the layer and fifth line of
code to tell it no vias or .....I can take my mouse and manually route the
trace in 5 seconds. If I have to do this for every A B C D connection then
it cant be done with the router. Trust me , no autorouter can route a
backplane (not yet anyway ) So you tell me where the trade off is
..when I say it cant be done. Tony is right, it can be done once
I have boards where I am switching these views on a regular basis, trying to
match lengths on 32 bit busses and topology Those are typical high speed
requirements. This capability was available in 99SE with only 4 keys .
Writing code to switch views .....that translates to "it cant be done"
And yes I do know how to use the software I just dont want to program views.
