Ironically this is pretty close to the reason Mr Martin developed his DOS based PCB design software to begin with. As a university student/graduate the Unix based systems available at the time were extremely expensive and still quite buggy. So he wrote his own. The price/functionality was good enough to sell commercially. I have this on good advice from one of his original marketing managers (Hobart, Tasmania is a very small city).
