My favorite is 'less' and 'fewer'. Fewer is for things you can count "fewer 
people, fewer houses" and less is for things
you cannot count "less sugar, less sand"

When you are watching TV, it is interesting how many people don't even know the 
word 'fewer'. They use 'less' for
everything.

It's frightening.  There are teachers on there who don't know the difference 
between "you're" or "your", "loosing" and
"losing", "To", "Too" or "Two", and these people think they deserve lifetime 
pensions.
