Not sure I understand...

Because I comment that MSoft tends to try to make Windows do all and be
all, I'm saying that they don't meet my standards? What does my
standards (assuming I have any at all) have to do with Microsoft?

So, to return the query...are you saying that MSoft doesn't play the
"one product does it all" game?

I'm not saying that they shouldn't...that's up to them. Obviously it's
one way to do things, but it's generally assumed, by me at least, that
you compromise certain issues of performance by doing so. Yes, there are
benefits to this approach...standardization...which is what surprised me
about Apple's choice to roll a new OS. They tend to be the Uber-masters
of standardization, or else.

Oh, and I wasn't necessarily talking about an Apple product....my
statement was "the pad"....not "the ipad". In my neck of the woods,
which extends from other there to where I'm sitting over here, "the pad"
is a reference to the generic device category of pad computers...not a
particular brand. What I was saying was that Pads, in general, tend to
be closer to a cell phone than a desktop or laptop computer.

Hope this helps. No intention of peeing on either Apple or MSoft's
cornflakes....or their defenders.
