Just wondering what everyone else thinks about this...

Are they just throwing out a PR bone for image improvement (VB6 source
has no value to MS anymore, so why not)?
Is it a sincere effort to establish some kind of grassroots foothold in
the world of Open Source?
Mixture of the two?

Just really strikes me as an odd step for MS.
Isn't there code in VB6 that is still in use today in the (whatever is
current) VB source that is in use today, or is the current version
completely different?

Maybe they will, someday, release VFP from the dungeon...
If they don't (release VFP to open source) then it underscores that
there is a motive behind their actions (releasing VB, not releasing VFP)
and this isn't just a "don't have anything else to do on Thursday" thing.
