I went to a State of .NET presentation yesterday by Markus Egger. They travel around and I would recommend it for anyone wanting to make sense of all the different technologies offered by Microsoft. It was the only place were I have seen all of the different technologies discussed and demonstration in relation to each other. It can help you make an informed decision about which direction to take.
