Sorry I should have directed my reply to you. Pete is right, rust is a
devil. Just a peek with one of those new pencil lights will clear up
whether the  mounting is in trouble. But Rust is easy to detect and
repair.

The Flexible Break Cable will run from the Break Actuator behind the
Disk Calipers behind the wheel to a fixture above on the wheel bay
housing, after which a metal line is used to run to the Hydraulic
Cylinder mounted typically on the bulkhead,under the bonnet, where the
fluid addition cap will be easy to reach. Usually The Flexible Cable
cracks near the junctions at either of its ends. 

There will be a small nipple, which can be loosened to bleed the lines
after replacement, right beside the break line connection to the
actuator.
