They are a different beast.  You have a disconnected environment and
how to play the game with it is far different then having everything
on your local workstation in a cached environment.

All the great stuff like filling  dropdown lists because you set some
filter.  Getting that data back into your UI is the hard part.  In
desktop that happens effortlessly and in web you ajax so you don't see
that page refresh.
