Hi Everybody, I am trying to set up gmail in thunderbird. I had it working fine on another machine that crashed and is not worth fixing. I had the username and password written down. Gmail, however, would not accept these from the new machine.
I went to the gmail site, reset the password (the email address was correct as I had written it, but the password was ambiguous) and wrote the password down. Gmail sent the instructions to my verizon email so I got something right. BUT, the new password was not accepted either. So I changed it again, and wrote it down again. Same problem. What is happening? Does gmail use a username different from the email address? Would a mismatch there cause a problem? If I recall correctly I used "Pete Theisen" as the user namd but perhaps I have actually forgotten. -- Regards, Pete http://pete-theisen.com/ http://elect-pete-theisen.com/ _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
