Thanks everyone. The task is to discover if the MagTek USB Check Reader with Keyboard Emulation is currently attached to the PC. We have been using the USB COM emulator device. There are two system configurations that the COM emulator will not work for our clients. MagTek has brought to market the KE version to handle the various needs. The blog post by Stuart Dunkeld gave us the answer rather quickly.
