Hi Everybody,

I don't burn a lot of CDs. I have had this spindle of Philips CD-Rs 52x
for maybe 7 or 8 years and never used even half of them. It seems that
in the rare event that I do use them I burn a *lot* of coasters before I
ever get a good one.

Tonight I used a Staples CD-R to burn something for a friend and it
worked on her CD-R the first time. I then burned 5 coasters trying to
make a second copy for me before I gave up.

Her CD-R was fine, mine all failed! I know, woman's rights and all that.

Is it possible for a batch of CD-Rs to be mostly all bad? Of course,
they lived in the back of my truck for maybe 50,000 miles over 5 years.
Maybe I ruined them going over bumps? They *look* OK . . .

I shared a few with my Linux buddy and he says he has to burn them
really slow or they will coaster on him. Mine coaster slow or fast.
Maybe I should buy a few from Staples like the lady does?
