Not so.  If it's in the public folder, right click, choose drop box 
options, and it will create a link that is good for nothing except to 
pull the file down.

Also, if this is someone you share with on a regular basis, you can set 
up a shared folder, and give them the PW to only that - they can access 
that folder, and have no other access at all to any other folder.  Time 
to RTFM.  :-)
