I think a lot of todays recruiters and HR depts don't realize that back in the mid to late 80's, there was no formal education for what we did.
I was fortunate and took a structured programming class at Andover College in Portland Maine where a guy taught me all about switches and stuff like that and that helped a lot, but again, there wasn't really any formal education and we acquired the skills on our own and we learned, or we got out of the business.and found something we were more suited for. That spirit built most of the World's current technology, but now it is disallowed by the ones that believe a person's skills are determined by the paper on a wall?
