get you a copy of tc2000 (wordenbros) and set up the function keys to give you a daily, weekly and monthly view using only the stock price and the volume bars.
you will be surprised what the differences are between the 3 views and tc2000 makes it very easy to see all 3 views with just a press of a function key and you are right, the longer term view is the only way to fly. I will never forget when I first because interested in 96 and I locked myself in a room for about 6 months between contracts with all types of computers and a real time data feed and attempted to follow every single stock. Now that I'm a little bit wiser, I have found that I can follow the whole market in a couple of hours per day using tc2000 and only watch the ones that I'm trading via a real time feed like esignal, etc..
