I was able to open up an access database in Open Office Base. Create an ODBC data source on the database. Then in the Open Office Base setup wizard select "Connect to an existing database" and select the above data source. It will ask you to register and save the database in open office format and it will have all of the tables of the access database but no forms or reports.
