Which Krystine are you talking about? Also, I'm not trying to minimalize your or the American poor condition, I'm just saying there are those in Haiti who eat only once a day about every three days and what they eat is a plain rice gruel - those are the ones that are doing good. Others eat less often - there is an amazing difference.
I agree with you regarding regular Foreign Aid - it is worthless for the majority of poor people. Hi Steve, "They" want you to believe that. It is a damned lie. None, or next to none of the foreign aid reaches the "poor", it is all diverted to the private profit of those who have no need for aid. This has been the case as long as there has been foreign aid. We have our own poor, care for our own. I run out of money every month by the 15th or so. I was getting by until the job was cut to 7 hours a week about a year ago. Am I poor? I guess not by your criteria. To be poor I have to "actually" die of privation rather than merely "almost" die. The people at the Senior Center are all having the same problem. We can't eat properly or get medicine for two weeks out of the month. Every month some of us can't absorb that food and medicine disruption and "actually" die like Krystine did a few month ago. We should be glad to take that risk so that the government can line the pockets of some third world dictator's crony? I guess so! >> Sunstein maintains: "If we care about social welfare > This international transfer scam has been going on for years and has > always had its fanboys in the press/media.
