Nothing -- you just had to get the data from the file first. Before  
filetostr() that required LLFFs. Also, though my memory is kinda hazy  
(so what else is new?), it seemed line strtran had a string size  
limitation, so one had to use it line-by-line (or chunk-by-chunk) of  
the text file.

Happy to be wrong, but I remember doing this long, long ago ("in a  
galaxy...").

Fellow "seniors" -- anybody else remember?
