Ok at least I have an idea what to expect. I think I may hit a problem as
the machine that needs access is my server. On it is a web service that
needs to access a web service on the distant server. So VPN cutting off the
internet is most defiantly not a choice. I have a feeling VPC won't solve
that so the setting is what I may need. But one step at a time. I will try
to get VPN running first then sort out what's left.
Thanks guys
Al

Subject: RE: [NF] VPN

I ran into a similar situation re: a Cisco VPN Client clipped me from being
able to access the Internet while the VPN client was active. There was a
setting I was able to alter that stopped that from happening, but lordy if I
can recall what it was after so many years.

One thing you could do if the VPN Gateway does prevent your other apps from
hitting the Internet is a problem is use a VPC to run the processes needed,
and have the Cisco Client run under said VPC. I have been doing that myself
with one commercial client (not because of the Cisco Client causing me a
problem, I needed to run multiple VMware Guest machines on a VMware ESXi
Server anyway).
