At my gig they don't have an answer. They say that their contract only demands X, and I asked if they know how much time it will take to achieve X for ANY of our clients? No answer. I asked how they are going to answer the question from client when am I going to be back up? No answer. I gave them ball park WAG times for the size of the current database and they thought that I was nuts. They see the time to make a backup up as the same time to restore it. HAHAHAHAHA reading is always faster then writing. So YMMV on this. I deal with db sizes in sub TB and small ones of 100 gig all for the same medical system at different clients. Some are on monster dual server environments and others are just a Win2000 single CPU box. -- Stephen Russell Sr. Production Systems Programmer Web and Windows Development Independent Contractor Memphis TN 901.246-0159 _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
