Pardon me? It is well known that "comrade" became the official term used to address fellow communist revolutionaries. If a Russian today means "friend" he would likely prefer the term "droog". Most Russians avoid the term "tovarisch" (comrade) today because of the connotations that it acquired under Communism. Gay also used to mean "happy" until the Left co-opted it to mean homosexual. The Left is all about co-opting the meaning of words to push a political agenda. That Medvedev, who works for a former KGB apparatchik, used the term in reference to Obama meant something beyond "friend," "colleague" and "ally". But let's even say it meant just that. This too would be disturbing. Medvedev is a dictator's puppet---to see that kind of friend/ally/colleague in Obama should be unsettling, IMHO. And yes I thought Bush was retarded for seeing good in Putin's eyes. - Bob > > http://bit.ly/pQJ0 > > - - - > The pair also discussed thorny issues including NATO's eastwards > expansion, > long opposed by Moscow which sees it as a power-grab by the West's > former > Cold War-era military bloc into former Soviet territory. > > "Yesterday I spoke about this with my new comrade President Barack > Obama," > Medvedev told reporters travelling with him to the London summit. > - - - > > He insults the Queen of England with an iPod, then he bows > subserviently > to > the Saudi king, then he becomes Comrade to a Russian autocrat's puppet > president... what's next on this National Lampoon's European Summit? > > - Bob _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
